Overview
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal control processes. This role will play a key part in month-end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, company accounting policies, and internal control requirements
- Assist with SOX testing, control certifications, and audit requests from internal and external auditors
- Analyze financial data and provide reporting support for management and business partners
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operational teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiencies, and internal controls
- Assist with system implementations, enhancements, and process testing initiatives
- Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and internal controls
- Experience supporting month-end close in a complex business environment
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability
