Procurement Category Manager specializing in IT & Technology (hardware/software) to lead sourcing initiatives, vendor management, and cost optimization efforts. This contract role will focus on procurement of enterprise technology solutions, SaaS, IT services, and related hardware for a mid-to-large scale organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Develop and execute procurement strategies for IT categories including software licensing, SaaS, cloud services, IT infrastructure, end-user devices, and professional services.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Lead end-to-end sourcing processes (RFP, RFQ, RFI) including supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contracting.

  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate complex contracts including SLAs, pricing models, T&Cs, and renewals for software and hardware purchases.

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key technology suppliers- Oracle, Netsuite etc

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with IT, legal, finance, and cybersecurity teams to understand requirements, mitigate risk, and ensure procurement alignment with business goals.

  • Cost Optimization: Identify cost savings opportunities through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) analysis.

  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure sourcing decisions adhere to corporate policies, data privacy regulations, and risk frameworks.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor IT procurement trends, new technologies, and pricing shifts to inform sourcing strategy.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Information Technology, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years focused on IT category management.

  • Strong knowledge of IT procurement processes, licensing models (e.g., SaaS, perpetual, subscription), and cloud service contracts.

  • Experience with contract management tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, Coupa, Oracle).

  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
