Position Summary

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations across multi-state and international employee populations. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for Workday Payroll, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing while partnering with HR, Finance, and external vendors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process full-cycle payroll, including wages, taxes, deductions, and off-cycle payments
  • Maintain and audit payroll data for new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
  • Reconcile payroll and resolve discrepancies prior to finalization
  • Prepare payroll reports and support year-end processing (W-2s, T4s, and international equivalents)
  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Workday Payroll
  • Troubleshoot payroll system issues and support system enhancements and integrations
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll regulations
  • Coordinate international payroll processing with external vendors
  • Prepare payroll tax filings and support internal and external audits
  • Administer payroll-related benefits deductions and reconcile with vendor records
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Identify process improvements and maintain payroll procedures and controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
  • 5–8+ years of payroll experience with full-cycle processing responsibility
  • Required: Extensive experience with Workday Payroll
  • Experience managing multi-state U.S. payroll; international payroll exposure preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reconciliation
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of discretion with confidential information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation
  • Experience with payroll audits or system implementations
  • Familiarity with global payroll systems and integrations
