About the Opportunity
TalentoHC has partnered with a global fashion licensing business seeking an experienced, strategic, and creative Director of PR & Communications to lead all corporate, brand, and consumer communications.
This individual will elevate the company's visibility, strengthen relationships with media and industry partners, and drive compelling storytelling across a portfolio of fashion, lifestyle, and entertainment brands.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in fashion, licensing, consumer products, or lifestyle brands and knows how to position both corporate initiatives and licensed brand partnerships in a highly competitive marketplace.
This role partners closely with Executive Leadership, Licensing, Marketing, Creative, Sales, and Brand Management to develop integrated communication strategies that support business growth and reinforce the company's reputation
as a leader in global brand licensing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive PR and communications strategies, including annual plans aligned with licensing launches, partnerships, acquisitions, and company milestones
- Position the company as a thought leader within the fashion, licensing, retail, and consumer products industries
- Cultivate relationships with fashion, retail, licensing, business, and trade media, and secure high-impact placements across print, digital, broadcast, podcasts, and social channels
- Develop pitches, press releases, executive statements, and thought leadership content, and manage media inquiries and executive interviews
- Lead communications surrounding new licensing partnerships, product launches, collaborations, and retail initiatives, working closely with licensors, licensees, and brand partners to maximize earned media
- Ensure consistent messaging across multiple licensed brands while maintaining each brand's unique identity
- Develop speeches, presentations, talking points, and messaging for executive leadership, and support executive visibility through speaking engagements, conferences, and media appearances
- Manage internal and external corporate communications, including messaging around acquisitions, organizational announcements, and executive appointments
- Lead PR efforts surrounding fashion weeks, trade shows, licensing expos, retail events, and product launches, including press previews and influencer events
- Develop influencer engagement strategies and identify opportunities with stylists, celebrities, creators, and fashion editors
- Develop crisis communication protocols and serve as communications lead during sensitive issues affecting the business or licensed brands
- Oversee corporate messaging across websites, social media, newsletters, and external communications, ensuring a consistent brand voice
- Build, mentor, and lead the PR and Communications team, and manage external PR agencies, partners, and budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive PR and communications experience
- Experience within fashion, apparel, accessories, licensing, consumer products, lifestyle, beauty, entertainment, or retail
- Demonstrated success securing national media coverage
- Strong relationships with fashion editors, retail reporters, licensing media, and business press
- Experience supporting executive communications
- Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Experience managing agencies and cross-functional teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
