Director of Logistics

Talento has partnered with a fast-growing logistics and retail platform scaling across multiple business sectors. Our client is a high-growth B2B marketplace, logistics, and fintech platform headquartered in Miami, FL. The company connects buyers and sellers of consumer products and distribution across the U.S. and Latin America, with an integrated logistics and trade finance layer that turns the platform into more than a marketplace.
Our client is building logistics into a $20M+ revenue business. The Director of Logistics will own that mission end-to-end from the first client call to the last-mile delivery, from building the team to running the P&L. The Miami operations include a 30,000 sq ft fulfillment warehouse. The company is currently in the process of obtaining Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) designation, expected by end of 2026, which will significantly expand its capabilities and client value proposition.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the logistics P&L: revenue, margin, and growth from day one
  • Acquire and develop client accounts, 3PL customers, marketplace sellers, and cross-border shippers
  • Build pricing models, service packages, and proposals across 3PL, freight, storage, and cross-border logistics
  • Integrate logistics as a value-added service for marketplace buyers and sellers
  • Identify and close strategic partnerships: carriers, FTZ operators, customs brokers
  • Represent the logistics business at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings
  • Design and implement SOPs for all logistics workflows
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the 30,000 sq ft Miami fulfillment warehouse
  • Lead the FTZ designation process by working with legal, customs, and operations to complete certification by end of 2026
  • Manage carrier, warehouse, and 3PL vendor relationships
  • Own cross-border execution: imports, exports, customs compliance, and FTZ operations post-certification
  • Ensure delivery performance, cost control, and service quality across all shipments
  • Oversee Miami warehouse team and the Medellín back-office team
  • Evaluate, select, and implement TMS / WMS tools
  • Build real-time reporting dashboards for logistics KPIs
  • Partner with the technology team to integrate logistics data into the core platform

Requirements:

  • 7–12 years in logistics: freight forwarding, 3PL, distribution, or e-commerce fulfillment
  • Proven track record of selling logistics services and managing a commercial book of business
  • Experience building or restructuring a logistics operation from scratch or near-scratch
  • Cross-border logistics experience (LATAM)
  • Has led teams of 5+ across multiple locations
  • P&L ownership experience
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish (required)
