Cloud & Information Security Engineer (Azure / Microsoft 365)

The Cloud & Information Security Engineer is responsible for managing and securing the organization’s Microsoft cloud environment, including Azure and Microsoft 365 platforms. This hands-on role focuses on optimizing cloud infrastructure, enforcing security policies, and ensuring the reliability and compliance of collaboration and endpoint systems. The position requires strong technical expertise in Azure, M365, Intune, and cloud security best practices to support enterprise-scale environments and protect critical data assets.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure Microsoft cloud environments, including Azure and M365 workloads.
  • Configure and administer services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
  • Implement and manage Intune policies for endpoint configuration, security, and compliance across multiple device types.
  • Develop, enforce, and monitor cloud security standards aligned with industry frameworks and company policies.
  • Conduct proactive security assessments, incident response, and vulnerability remediation for cloud services.
  • Implement automation through PowerShell or other scripting tools to improve efficiency and compliance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service desk teams to design and implement secure, scalable solutions.
  • Monitor cloud environments using admin centers and security dashboards to ensure uptime, integrity, and protection of systems.
  • Maintain documentation, technical guides, and user support materials related to Azure and M365 environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Microsoft cloud environments, including Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Intune.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure security configurations, identity management, conditional access, and compliance tools.
  • Proven experience managing M365 workloads (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive) and related security controls.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills for administration and monitoring.
  • Understanding of network and cloud security principles, including encryption, MFA, and data loss prevention.
  • Experience with incident response, vulnerability management, and security auditing in cloud environments.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, SC-300, or MS-102 preferred.
