Claims Operations Assistant
Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract (W-2)
Pay: $45-50/hr
Experience: 5+ Years

About the Opportunity

TalentoHC is partnering with a well-established global insurance carrier seeking a Claims Operations Assistant to join its growing team.

This role sits at the center of a claims organization, supporting the day-to-day operations of its North America Claims division. It is not an adjuster role, it’s an operations position responsible for ensuring claims documentation, regulatory notices, and communications are processed accurately and on time. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in claims operations, insurance administration, or claims support and a proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly regulated environments.

This opportunity offers the chance to serve as the operational hub between internal claims teams, third-party administrators (TPAs), carriers, and business partners, supporting Workers’ Compensation, Property, and General Liability lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the claims mailbox, processing incoming USPS and electronic mail and routing time-sensitive Workers’ Compensation notices to the correct TPA or internal claims professional
  • Receive and distribute state regulatory notices and circulars, and support compliance activities, audits, and regulatory reporting
  • Coordinate class code and state change requests, and support Workers’ Compensation panel requests and document routing
  • Answer inbound calls from providers, claimants, insureds, and business partners, directing inquiries to the appropriate claims professional
  • Assist with day-to-day claims administration, audits, controls, and compliance activities across multiple lines of business

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in claims operations, insurance administration, workers’ compensation, or claims support
  • Experience working with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) or insurance carriers preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize urgent, time-sensitive documents
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Guidewire, Sedgwick, Gallagher Bassett, or similar claims platforms is a plus but not required
