About the Opportunity
TalentoHC is partnering with a PE-backed consumer product and entertainment company seeking an Associate Product Manager to join its Product Development team on a contract basis. This role will support the end-to-end product development process, serving as a key point of coordination between internal teams, licensors, and manufacturers to ensure products move smoothly from concept through production. The ideal candidate brings hands-on product development or product management experience, ideally within toys, plush, or a related licensed consumer products category, along with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role, managing products through all stages of development, from initial concept and sample review through licensor approvals and production handoff. The position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, sourcing, licensing, and manufacturing partners to ensure products meet brand, quality, and safety standards on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage plush product development projects from concept through production, tracking milestones and deliverables
- Coordinate with design, sourcing, licensing, and manufacturing teams to keep projects on schedule
- Review and provide feedback on plush samples and prototypes throughout the development cycle
- Support the licensor approval process, including preparing materials and maintaining brand fidelity
- Maintain accurate product development records, specs, and status trackers
- Communicate project timelines, changes, and updates clearly across internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure products meet safety, quality, and budget requirements throughout development
- Support other Product Development team needs as priorities shift during the leave coverage period
Qualifications
- BA or BS in a related field, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of product development or product management experience, preferably in toys, plush, or licensed consumer products
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related project tracking tools
- Familiarity with sample review, licensor approval processes, and production timelines
- Understanding of toy safety regulations and cost considerations is a plus
- Comfortable working onsite
- Must be comfortable maintaining confidentiality regarding proprietary designs and product plans
