Talento is engaged with an $8B commercial airline that is growing their footprint and looking to hire a Director of Crew Scheduling in South Florida. The Director of Crew Scheduling is a key leadership role within airline operations, responsible for managing all aspects of crew scheduling. This includes ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining adequate staffing levels, handling crew logistics, managing real-time operational challenges, and optimizing crew resources. The position requires strategic planning, strong leadership skills, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily scheduling of flight and cabin crews in accordance with internal policies and federal regulations
  • Monitor staffing levels and ensure optimal crew coverage across all operations
  • Respond to and resolve scheduling disruptions, including delays, cancellations, and legality issues
  • Coordinate crew travel logistics, including transportation and hotel accommodations
  • Forecast future crew requirements based on anticipated flight schedules and business growth
  • Ensure all crew scheduling processes and decisions comply with applicable FAA regulations
  • Lead and mentor a team of crew schedulers, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback
  • Collaborate with other departments such as dispatch, training, and flight operations to ensure seamless communication and execution
  • Use scheduling software and data analytics to optimize crew utilization and reduce costs
  • Maintain open, clear communication with flight crews regarding schedule updates and operational changes

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of experience in crew scheduling, planning, or airline operations; charter experience is a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, particularly FAR 117, 121, and 121.467
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a scheduling team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex, real-time scheduling issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in managing schedules and compliance
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing operational circumstances and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on supporting crew members and operational staff
