Principal AI Solutions Engineer
We are seeking a Principal AI Forward Deployed Engineer to partner directly with business leaders to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that solve complex operational and commercial challenges.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can take an ambiguous business problem, architect a scalable solution, develop production-ready applications, and drive implementation from concept through deployment. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with experience delivering AI and machine learning solutions in real-world environments.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, scope, and deliver AI-driven solutions.
- Design, build, and deploy enterprise applications, APIs, and microservices leveraging AI/ML technologies.
- Develop scalable backend solutions using Python, Node.js, FastAPI, and cloud-native architectures.
- Lead containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Build and support event-driven architectures utilizing Kafka or similar streaming platforms.
- Own projects from discovery and architecture through production deployment and ongoing optimization.
- Collaborate with data science, engineering, infrastructure, security, and product teams.
- Establish best practices, mentor engineers, and contribute to platform and architecture improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend development expertise.
- 4+ years deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
- Experience architecting and delivering production-grade AI applications.
- Strong experience with Python, Node.js, APIs, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
- Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or other event-driven technologies.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Preferred
- Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, and agentic AI solutions.
- Experience in a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Consulting capacity.
- AWS, Kubernetes, or AI/ML certifications.
- Experience supporting large-scale operational or customer-facing environments.
