Workday Integration Developer

About the Company
Our client is a prominent educational institution located in North Carolina, known for its commitment to academic excellence and student success. With a strong focus on innovation, the institution has recently adopted Workday to streamline its human resources, finance, and student systems. To support these efforts, they are seeking a skilled Workday Integration Developer to design, develop, and maintain integrations between Workday and other internal and external systems. This role is critical in ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability to support the institution’s ongoing digital transformation.

About the Role
As a Workday Integration Developer, you will be responsible for building, managing, and optimizing Workday integrations that connect the Workday platform with various third-party systems, including payroll, benefits providers, student information systems, and more. You will work closely with HR, IT, and other departments to develop scalable integration solutions that enhance system efficiency and data integrity. This is an exciting opportunity for a developer with strong technical skills who is passionate about creating impactful solutions in a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs (Enterprise Interface Builder), Core Connectors, and web services (SOAP and REST).
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and IT teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical integration solutions that optimize workflows and data sharing.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain existing integrations to ensure data accuracy, system performance, and timely resolution of any issues.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for all Workday integrations, including workflows, data mappings, and error-handling procedures.
  • Lead the implementation of new Workday integration projects and upgrades, ensuring smooth and secure data transfers between systems.
  • Ensure that integrations comply with data privacy and security standards, including FERPA, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Work with external vendors and third-party system providers to ensure the compatibility of Workday integrations with their platforms.
  • Conduct regular data audits and testing to ensure the integrity and reliability of all system interfaces.
  • Stay informed about the latest Workday integration features and best practices, continuously enhancing the institution’s integration strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience developing integrations for Workday, including experience with Workday Studio, Core Connectors, and EIBs.
  • Strong understanding of integration technologies, such as REST and SOAP APIs, XML, XSLT, and web services.
  • Experience with data integration and transformation tools, including middleware platforms.
  • Solid understanding of HR, payroll, and financial systems, as well as student systems within an educational setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Workday security configuration and integration testing.
  • Workday certifications in Integration or Studio preferred but not required.
